Srinagar, May 12 (KNO): BJP's young face and the member of Haj committe of India (HCI) Er Aijaz Hussian today called on the Honourable J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in Srinagar and urged him to get the wine shop at Pantha Chowk closed forthwith in the interest of public. In a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Er Aijaz said that he had received a series of memorandums from senior citizens and civil society groups who had demanded immediate shifting of liquour shop as the move will lead to increase in crimes as the place has a police station, a school, a tehsil office and a transport yard nearby. Er Aijaz appealed JK LG to look into the issue and order for the shifting of wine shop forthwith in the larger interest of public. The LG, as per Er Aijaz gave him a patient hearing and assured him that his suggestions will be considered. Er Aijaz, also duscussed Haj 2022 related measures with the Honourable LG and briefed him a slew of steps taken by HCI for making smooth and hassle free pilgrimage for all the aspirants of Haj 2022. The LG appreciated the HCI efforts fpr making Haj 2022 cheaper by all means and putting in place quality facilities at airport and Haj Houses across the. country. Er Aijaz also highlighted the coorsination being maintained by the HCI and the Saudi Arabia goverment for ensuring hassle free pilgrimage this years. At least one million people will perform Haj this year with a close to 84000 Muslims set to undertake holy journey including 1800 women without Mehram this year fro India alone. Meanwhile, Er Aijaz, who is also DDC member, discussed the constiuency-related matters including develolment of play grounds, availability of clean drinking water, installing electric poles, mecdamisation of roads and repairing of damaged water pipes. He thanked LG administration for generous funding for the development of the whole area of Khonmoh--(KNO)
